Crossroads
What do you wanna be when you grow up? Crossroads is a monthly event we do with our senior high students during the Life Together Hour from 11-12.  Our goal is to get out of the building and into our b’ham community to explore the spaces where our faith intersects with the real world.   On Sunday, March 13, we went  downtown to the Logos Building to discuss issues of career, calling, and...

“Christ’s love sees us with terrible clarity”
– Romantic love is blind to everything except what is lovable and lovely, but Christ’s love sees us with terrible clarity and sees us whole. Christ’s love so wishes our joy that it is ruthless against everything in us that diminishes our joy. The worst sentence Love can pass is that we behold the...

Clique Vacation '09
I’m one of the luckiest people in the world. Why?  Because over the past 10 years I’ve been fortunate enough to find some of the best friends around. It all started in Colorado—where a small group of us went to the same church.  I guess we did more than go to that church—we all actively served students together as a way to respond to God.  Anyway, over the span of 7 years...

I’ve been creating/updating the website for my church for the past year in iWeb (Apple’s web design software included in iLife ‘09.)  One thing I’ve appreciated about iWeb is it’s simplicity—you can create a really nice site in a matter of minutes.  You can also create a more complex site because the software is really flexible.  However,  the site you create...

I generally take Friday and Saturday as my days off…sometimes have a difficult time finding things to do by myself, but today I had Paul’s camera so I thought I’d run around town and take some pictures.  One thing I like about b’ham is that it is a pretty creative place.  You only have to drive around for a little bit before you see some pretty cool things.  Today I thought...

Something to say??
Well, it’s been a while since i’ve posted anything.  For the last few months I’ve felt like I’ve had nothing to say…until I saw a friends blog—and it got me to thinking about giving it a try again.  If you’ve followed my random thoughts for any length of time, you’ll notice that this is my 3rd site (blogspot, wordpress, and now tumblr).  The last...

Break the Chains
“Deeply ingrained in the collective psyche of Western culture is the notion that slavery ended in the nineteenth century. In our own day, however, a thriving underground market in human beings has emerged once again. More people are in slavery today than at any other time in human history, including all those seized from Africa during the four centuries of the trans-Atlantic slave-trade....

New Office
I’m a visual/spacial kind of person. I like it when a room looks good, feels good, and sparks creativity. I’ve been working on redecorating my office for the past month so that it reflects more of who I am. Lately, I’ve been into “simple” things and natural things (I like finding ways to bring the outdoors in.) So I painted my walls a deep brown (formerly a buttery-beige.) I put up some cool...
